Education System

Courses at the Faculty of Information Technology are delivered on a semester basis - 2 semesters per year with a minimum of 15 weeks per semester.  Instruction may occur during summer break periods with a minimum of 8 weeks - equal to those taught in the regular session.  
 

Programs

1. Bachelor's Degree Program
Bachelor of Science Program in Information Technology

The program encourages students to establish themselves as IT professionals and social contributors by applying knowledge, vision, self-discovery, generosity and awareness of the arts and cultural value to their daily lives.  Students will be taught from the foundation of information technology to their selected specialized areas that lay the foundation for them to begin a career in IT or to pursue a graduate degree in Information System Technology: IST. The instruction covers analysis, design and development of computer programs and information technology administration, management and monitoring.  

       - Bachelor of Science in Business Information Technology (International Program)

2.  Master’s Degree Program
Master of Science Program in Information Technology

The program offers 4 specialized subject areas:

(1) Information Science

The subject concentrates on research on any aspects of information technology and innovation development.  

(2) Information System Technologies

In addition to the focus on general information technology and key characteristics of its systems, the subject delivers a specialized area in software and information systems development.

(3) Network and Systems Technologies

Apart from its emphasis in the general knowledge of information technology, the subject offers a specialized area in network and systems technology.  

(4) Information Technology and Management

Besides theories and practices of the general knowledge of information technology and technological administration, the subject prepares students to be ready for the successful management of information technology resources within their organizations.  

 

3. Doctoral Degree Program
Doctor of Philosophy Program in Information Technology

The doctoral degree program is designed to provide high-quality doctoral graduates who are expertise in both theoretical and practical information technology to meet the requirements of both public and private sectors.  The graduates will hold the ability to practically exhibit the best aspects of their research initiatives to elevate the quality within the academic circle.  The program is comparable to many of today’s top IT schools worldwide, so it accommodates those who are not convenient to pursue their doctoral studies overseas.  

 

Program Duration

- Bachelor’s Degree (to be completed in a period not exceeding 8 years)

- Master’s Degree (to be completed in a period not exceeding 5 years)

- Doctoral Degree (to be completed in a period not exceeding 5 years for Master’s graduates and 8 years for Bachelor’s graduates) 

 


Program Structure
1.  Bachelor’s Degree (a minimum of 135 credit units for the entire program)

2.  Master’s Degree (a minimum of 38 credit units for the entire program)

(1) Plan A: Thesis
(2) Plan B: Coursework (a minimum of 38 credit units, consisting of a minimum of 35 credit units of coursework and 3 credit units of Independent Study, System Development Project, or Special Project, along with a qualifying comprehensive exam at the end of the program)

3.  Doctoral Degree (a minimum of 90 credit units for Master’s graduates and a minimum of 60 credit units Bachelor's graduates) 

 

Tuition Fees
1. Bachelor’s Degree: THB25,000/semester
2. Master’ Degree: THB45,000/semester
3. Doctoral Degree: THB87,000/semester

-            Part-time Students: Saturday-Sunday, 9:00am-8:00pm at The Faculty of Information Technology, KMITL
